Most of these plants are quite adaptable in terms of growing conditions, making it ideal for those with limited space.
Elderberry, serviceberry and chokecherry can grow in almost any soil, while raspberry, blackcurrant and grape do require well-drained soil but are still reasonably adaptable (raspberries are particularly tolerant of sandy or rocky soil).

Berry bushes have the great advantage of starting to produce very quickly. If you are in a hurry to have fresh fruits on your table, berries are your friend!
All the above plants will start to produce fruit in less than three years after they are planted, with most of them starting earlier.
