Grape vines are quite adaptable, but prefer rocky limestone soil. They
need to be supported by either a fence or a trellis. In very cold areas,
they are often prunedtoproduce double trunks. The young fruit
bearing branches are put down under mulch for the winter. The cultivars we offer are very hardy, more than the
usual wine grapes. Expect production to start in 3 to 4 years.
The berries of these cultivars are small, but very sweet. As with many
other fruit and vegetables, the grapes
develop more sugar to counteract cold in the fall. Most grapes are self fertile, but
benefit from cross-pollination with another varieties. Space them 2 to 2.5
meters apart, between the plants and the rows. The vines listed below are all 1 foot to 3
feet tall, they are sold for 15$ each

A chance seedling discovered by the great American northern
grape breeder Mr. Swenson. He discovered it, growing in his
field, after having been away for a year due to sickness. It is a small
green fruit that can withstand minus40°Cand is mildew resistant. Its flavor, according to some,
depends on its environment. More than others,Kay Gray
performs much better with a pollinator.

Fruit are large (about 4g per
fruit). Good for juice and table use. Mildiew resistant and highly
flavorful!
HOGAN
Blue grape, extremely productive and very tasty.
Its taste is similar to the blue Ontarian Grape we buy
at
grocery stores.
Early ripening variety: end of august. Was found here in
Sainte-Julienne, on the old abandonned farm of Mr. Hogan, a
marchant who collected plants he discovered while
traveling
around the country.
This grape was named in honour
of him!

discount price. As we only propagate quality varieties, it will give
quality fruits. But we cannot tell you what type it will be! It
is a surprise! We cannot guaranty hardiness in colder areas than
zone 4, even if it can be hardier than that.
